A day at the beach
Today’s blog post calls for a small hypothetical, a meditation if you will.
As you read this, I’d like you to take a deep breath, in through your nose and out through your mouth, transporting yourself to a hot summer’s day.
Imagine yourself lounged on a towel on a beautiful secluded beach. You feel the cool touch of damp sand as your feet nestle into the sand at your feet. The rhythmic crash of the waves becomes a lulling sound that lets your mind wander without any particular direction. With your eyes closed you feel the intense sensation of being bathed in sunlight and vitamin D. As the light becomes too much you take a light scarf to cover your eyes. Constructed of 100% Indian cotton it feels weightless and soft, protecting your skin as you sink back into your daydream.
After a plunge in the ocean you feel invigorated and revived. The scent of the salt water as it dries on your skin, leaving your hair tousled and wild. You return to your towel and take a beautiful coral sarong to wrap around yourself whilst you explore the beach. As you come across a boulder you climb to the top, perched and pensive, it’s bliss.
The sunlight wanes and you return to your towel, gathering your things into your trusty tote bag that fits your every belonging. You meander back home, feeling sated, nourished and peaceful.

The Finders Keepers Spring/Summer Markets are returning to the Royal Exhibition Building in Melbourne on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th October 2013. This bi-annual event provides influential designers with the opportunity to showcase their wares in the realms of fashion, accessories, stationery, homewares, children’s toys and much more!
In a shift, unique to 2013, the markets have introduced debut stalls, where the newest designers are able to launch their creations into the design scene. Whilst the markets are an ideal place to gain inspiration and see how the design scene is evolving it is an experience for all the senses. With independent Australian artists accompanying the markets and delicious food and drink stalls, the markets will leave you feeling entirely sated.
For only $2 entry fee (free for children under 12 years of age), there is something for everyone at these markets.

For the beauty that lies beneath the surface

It is the dynamism and unique nature of minerals and rock formations that highlights a beautiful juxtaposition between the rough quality of the stone with the dazzling treasures and colours that lie beneath. As such, the GEO collection uses a mixture of chunky and fine cords along with sparkling Swarovski crystals to emulate the flowing strata in rocks and crystalline formations in geodes.
